The following 3-year plan is designed to give the Aspendale Arrows Netball Club’s (AANC) Committee a basis for improving the Club over the next 3 years. This plan covers the years 2019 through to 2021.
It is a working document for the Club to assess their direction, their long-term goals, and record various achievements within this plan.
It should be modified, edited and added to, as the Club’s direction and circumstances change.

The Game: Prolific participation at all junior levels of netball, and provide support for players participating in the Southern Football Netball League (SFNL).

Demographics Establish the optimum junior and SFNL demographics and netball structures for the AANC to ensure all netball is sustainable.
Partner Club Secure formal links with Edithvale-Aspendale Netball Club. Ensure AANC has priority access to Netball Courts located at Regent’s Park.
Kindred Association Secure formal links with kindred associations in the club’s designated area in order to strengthen the competition, the club, and ultimately the game itself.
Player Retention Ensure all persons who wish to play netball are aware of the options and prepare all junior players for senior representation, e.g. SFNL or Eagles.
Local Government Forge and maintain a relationship between the AANC, affiliated netball bodies and the Local Government Authority to the benefit of all parties and the community.
Umpiring Develop umpiring in the club by supporting members to participate in kindred association’s traineeships and employment.
Coaching Develop coaching in the club, ensuring all are foundation level qualified. Support coaches in achieving higher levels of qualifications.
The Competition: AANC will work with kindred associations to establish and sustain a viable strong competition.

Competition Profile
To formulate a joint strategic approach between AANC, EANC and other kindred associations that will raise the awareness of Netball in the local community.
The Club: Have a quality club structure and environment in which netballers can compete and progress to their highest potential and that also allows members and supporters to enjoy their netball involvement.

Appoint a Child Safety Officer and ensure the person is known to all players and families.
Team Formation
Have a strategic direction for overall club team formation policy.
Have a team formation policy that balances the objectives of club success in line with the club’s values of Fun, Fitness and Friendship.
Have clear communication with all players and families.
Talent Identification
Have a strategic approach to talent identification activities.
Liaise with kindred associations to develop a process for players to play representative netball.
Facilities and Equipment
Work with EANC Eagles to develop shared court facilities at Regents Park.
Purchase equipment as required to maintain standards.
Improve and maintain existing equipment.
Governance
Develop a Club Constitution
Have template for AANC to abide by when forming their committee structure.
Target people within and from outside the club for the management of the club.
Develop succession plans
Develop a strong communications plan e.g. Team App, Facebook, Website, advertising.
Develop and maintain policies and procedures to guide club activities
Game Development
Work with EANC and kindred associations to develop the game.
Culture
Set standards of behaviour and expectations within the club that continually improves culture and enhances respect for the game.
Ensure all members have access to relevant codes of conduct documentation.
Finance
Achieve financial sustainability for the club.
Set appropriate registration fees.
Set a budget that meets the annual financial needs and that allow for future maintenance and growth at all levels of the club.
Appoint a person responsible for identifying and applying for various Government sporting grants.
Sponsorship
Increase sponsorship.

Have a strategic approach to lifting the club profile.
Volunteers Recruitment
Nurture future administrators from the current member base.
Keep players (either past or present) interested in the club, by providing opportunities to take on off-field roles.
Management & Support
Ensure all volunteers are fully aware of their role within a club.
Provide adequate support to all volunteers.
Recognise volunteer contributions.
Ensure all volunteers comply with child safety laws e.g. working with children checks.
Develop an “introduction to the Arrows Club” document for new volunteers
